Integrated Approach to Education for San Communities in Ohangwena Region
The 9th of August 2011 a stakeholders’ meeting took place in Eenhana, sharing experiences and ideas about the “Integrated Approach to Education for San Communities in Ohangwena Region”. Before the meeting NGOs and Government agencies that support Early Childhood Development made a field trip to familiarize themselves to the San Resettlement Projects and Early Childhood Development centers in Ouholamo, Omanatadiva, Eendobe, Oshanashiwa and Ekoka.
The stakeholder meeting was held to deliberate on commitments and roles of the different stakeholder will play around Early Childhood Development and Community Hostels in the region.
Amongst the participants were: Desert Research Foundation of Namibia, Eenhana Town Council, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Gender, Equality and Child Welfare, Ministry of Health and Social Services, Ministry of Lands and Resettlement, Namibia Red Cross Society, Office of the Prime Minister, Ohangwena Regional Council and United Nations Education and Scientific Organisation.
