Piet du Pisani, the Director of the DRFN handed over books to Maria Amakali, the Director of Resource Management in the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Forestry and Cynthia Ortmann, the Chair of the Local Organizing committee. This is in preparation for the commemoration of the World Wetlands/Water Day. This year’s celebrations will be held at Kamutjonga Inland Fisheries Institute (KIFI), in Kavango East from the 25th to the 26th of March 2015. This will be under the theme “Water and Sustainable development”.

This donation of books on water and the environment is aimed at learners who are the future leaders. This is part of the DRFN’s endeavours of attaining its purpose of enhancing decision making for sustainable development.

“Having future leaders who are aware of the need to protect and conserve the environment from a young age is a giant step towards the realisation of DRFN’s vision of A Namibia in which people manage the environment for sustainable livelihoods“, said Mr du Pisani.
