The DRFN signed a contract for the implementation of the Summer Land Care Programme (SLCP) on 29 September 2010.
The SLCP is a hand’s on field based course that is aimed at developing and increasing the capacity of young Namibian students and graduates to acquire and apply research skills in all levels of integrated land management.
The project is part of the Country Pilot Partnership Programme (CPP) and will run from November 2010 to February 2011 under the theme “investigating the benefits of carbon sequestration and conservation tillage of local land users”. This programme is implemented by Desert Research Foundation of Namibia in the two pilot sites in the Ohangwena region, central northern Namibia.
