The DRFN is now launching a searchable database with summary reports from the Summer Desertification Programme (SDP) that was implemented by the DRFN with funding from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) annually from 1992 to 2005.
The SDP was designed as a hands-on, field training experience for students from the several Namibian tertiary institutions. Each of the thirteen two-month projects provided the opportunity for the application of theory to environmental problem solving for sustainable development. Economic, social and environmental sustainability were all considered in these studies.

The development of this searchable digital archive of student reports and background documents from the SDP was completed by the DRFN and funded by Sida with coordination support from the National Planning Commission.
