The DRFN through as accredited entity to the #AdaptationFund together with its implementing entity #Namwater this past week inaugurated the desalination plant at Grunau and held a groundbreaking ceremony for the site in Bethanie. These two projects aim to desalinate groundwater utilizing various renewable energy technologies such as solar and wind, aimed at climate change adaptation. Furthermore the project aims to build resilience of vulnerable communities and groups to climate change and increase the the capacity of government agencies to to manage water supply planning and policy processes. These milestone events were attended and officiated by the following heads of institutions: Hon. Calle Schleittwein: Minister of Agriculture, Water and Land Reform, the Chief Executive Officer of NamWater Mr. Abraham Nehemia and the Executive Director of the DRFN, Dr Martin Schneider.
