The DRFN is the accredited National Implementing Entity (NIE) of the Adaptation Fund (AF) since 2012. The AF funding aims to assist developing countries build resilience and adapt to climate change.
The Adaptation Fund board recently approved funding for a four-year project. This project proposal which was developed by NamWater as the executing entity and was approved during the AF’s 30th board meeting which was held during 12-13 October 2017 in Bonn, Germany.
The project will pilot a desalination plant with renewable power and membrane technology in Southern Namibia, commencing in the first quarter of 2018.
