Public awareness campaign...

...in support of the groundwater investigations in central northern Namibia

The DRFN is conducting a public awareness campaign in the central northern Namibia for the groundwater hydrocensus and geophysical measurements that are being carried out there as part of the Groundwater Investigation Project. The project is being undertaken by the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Forestry (MAWF) with the support of the German Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR). The public awareness campaign is designed to help the project proceed smoothly and to ensure that local authorities, councillors and communities are aware of the process, do not hinder the process and, furthermore, do not have their expectations inappropriately raised causing future problems for water suppliers and managers in the area.
