Trekkopje EIA

Environmental Impact Assessment of exploration
of EPL 3573 at Trekkopje

This EIA is only for Exclusive Prospecting Licence (EPL) area 3573 at Trekkopje held by Uramin (Pty) Ltd, which completely surrounds the main focus area of Uramin on EPL 2218. The findings of this EIA will be relevant and necessary inputs to the EIA of the whole Trekkopje Uranium Project that is being undertaken for Uramin by Turgis Consulting (Pty) Ltd. The only specialist study that is expected to be necessary for this area is an archaeological assessment. When the EIA is complete, the required mitigatory actions will be set out as specifications in the Environmental Management Plan.

MET requires Environmental inspections to be undertaken for both EPLs. These will be scheduled and done as needed, in consultation with Uramin.

The project is led by Colin Christian of Colin Christian and Associates CC, with EEAN subcontracted to do the bulk of the work.

Dolerite ridges at Trekkopje, like elsewhere in the Namib, tend to host more abundant and more diverse plants
(such as aloes and euphorbias) than the surrounding plains. Spitzkoppe stands out in the far distance
to the north-east of the Trekkopje EPL.
