The Ephemeral River Basins in SADC (ERB-SADC) project is exploring the potential and options for integrated resource management in ephemeral river basins under different environmental circumstances and legislative and policy frameworks in southern Africa. The project is being carried out in three ephemeral river basins – one in each country of Botswana, Namibia and South Africa. The project, which is funded by the Norwegian Government’s Department of Foreign Affairs, was initiated as there is a need to better understand and to develop appropriate structures and principles towards integrated water resource management in SADC.
The project started in March 2005 and will span a period of four years. |
