Brukkaros Meat Processors (BMP) is an abattoir located in southern Namibia near Keetmanshoop which process and exports goat, sheep and game for Namibia, South Africa and the European Union. A partnership was established with the Desert Research Foundation of Namibia (DFRN), the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) and the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) in an effort to decrease the environmental impacts from the abattoir waste.

The reception was organized by the Embassy of Finland in honor of the Fund for Local Cooperation (FLC) Coordinators from Eastern and Southern Africa who were visiting Namibia. The purpose of the reception was to celebrate and share the good work of FLC Partners in Namibia in addressing the country’s development challenges. During the reception, the advocacy posters that were developed by the FLC Partners in Namibia together with PACT Namibia were presented.

The DRFN through its Orange-Senqu River Learning Box project conducted a teachers’ workshop in Mariental on the 4 and 5 of November. The workshop was aimed at providing the participants the opportunity to collate recommendations on the RLB in order to strengthen the contents of RLB materials to ensure that they are relevant to the Namibian context.

The teachers provided feedback on the following:
• Usefulness and challenges of using the RLB as well as suggestions to improve
