Susan Hammit is a Peace Corps volunteer who has been with the DRFN since September 2017. She is based in Gobabis and has been assigned to work on the Livelihoods Support Programme (LISUP), which is currently in its fourth implementation phase.
Susan will be in Namibia for a period of 2 years, and whilst here she will focus mainly on training the project beneficiaries on financial literacy aspects as well as exploring various income generating activities that the beneficiaries can engage on to improve their livelihoods.

[Read more...]When a young woman, Magano Ndemufayo, approached our Peace Corps volunteer and asked, “Can you help the young women in Drimiopsis?” the DRFN recognized that a women’s group focused on financial literacy, life skills, and income opportunities may be a strong platform for sustainable self-sufficiency. The group met for the first time on October 31st with nine motivated and capable women who named their new organization and got right to work planning a project to raise funds in the spirit of self-sufficiency.
