Connecting the Dots, a project conducted by the Namibia Institute for Democracy (NID) with funding from the Finnish Embassy in Windhoek, aims to enhance public knowledge about the work of Civil Society Organisations, CSO’s in Namibia. Connecting the Dots uses short films on television, community dialogue, radio interviews, articles in local newspapers and music video to inform Namibians about the work of CSOs.

The 5th of June DRFN arranged, on behalf of The Future Okavango (TFO) project, the first Forum for Integrated Resources Management (FIRM) workshop involving both community representatives from the three project villages Tjeye, Mashare and Mopapama east of Rundu in Kavango region, and their service providers. Last week of May the E-CAP team worked with the Kalkrand Village Council, reviewing the Performance Support Team (PST) approach that was piloted in 2011, introducing the concept of performance indicators and discussing the outline of a socio-economic survey to be conducted in the village. The DRFN launches a new Information Platform, allowing all visitors to the DRFN website to access digital environmental information generated from DRFN’s library collections at the Windhoek office and at Gobabeb Research and Training Centre in the Namib Naukluft Park.

The information platform hosts five different searchable databases developed by the DRFN:
– DLIB, our knowledge management database containing over 4000 reports and other publications
